Dot Love is planning to send her consistent mare Dawn Shadow for the Trull House Stud Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival next month.

The six-year-old's last two outings have seen her finish third in Grade Three company, to Let's Dance at Leopardstown over Christmas and most recently behind Laurina in the Solerina Mares Hurdle at Fairyhouse last month.

Love said: "Plan A is to go for the mares' novice at Cheltenham with her. Plans don't always work out, but we are aiming for that.

"It's not too often that you'd have one good enough to go, so we'd like to try and bring her. Sean (Reilly, owner) is on board, too.

"She is in great form and is very easy to train. I don't think we will run her before then, we'd like to bring her there fresh.

"She is a mudlark, she has to work quite hard in all the mud, but she likes it and goes well in it. We just hope the ground at Cheltenham won't be too fast for her because she is not that speedy, but she is a great campaigner and a great jumper."
