Jockey Conor McNamara registered his first winner over fences at Wexford today as he steered the Gavin Cromwell trained Toosey to win the concluding Tuskar Handicap Chase.

McNamara, previously successful in one bumper and six hurdle races, today bagged his first winner over the bigger obstacles on Toosey, who was today winning for the third time since joining Champion Hurdle winning trainer Cromwell last summer.

Afterwards Cromwell said “he burst (blood vessels) two starts ago and ran no race in Downpatrick, maybe he didn't handle the track there. He is entered in Stratford on Monday and if didn't run well today he was going there.

"He is a brilliant leaper and it was just Conor's second ride over fences. They didn't go very hard, he was up there handy and stole a march coming down the hill."
