Four Irish among 17 declared for 2,000 Guineas

There will be four Irish-trained runners in the Stan James 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday, with Aidan O'Brien doubly represented by Rip Van Winkle and Mastercraftsman.

Jim Bolger has sprung a surprise by taking out Dewhurst winner Intense Focus, and the Coolcullen trainer now relies on Gan Amhras.

John Oxx has not declared Arazan and will be represented by Sea The Stars, while Richard Hills has elected to ride Free Handicap winner Ouqba in preference to Finjaan (Tadgh O'Shea).

A field of 17 go to post for the first classic of the season headed by Craven winner Delegator.
