The previously frustrating Supernovae (6/1) gained her maiden win at the seventh attempt when providing jockey Pat Smullen with a double at Dundalk this evening, in the concluding www.dundalkstadium.com Maiden.

Rated just 66 and previously beaten twice at odds-on, the winner received a well timed ride from Smullen to edge ahead in the closing stages, under a strong drive, to defeat 9/4f Urban Ball by half a length.

Weld was not present for the win while the win was Smullen's second of the evening having won an earlier handicap on Balmont Flyer in the Stewards Room.
