Riders took it nice and steady in the opener at Lingstown as James 'Corky' Carroll unleashed Desertmore Stream in the straight to devastating effect to impressively beat Andy Slattery’s newcomer Palm Hill.

It is hardly suprising that Desertmore Stream has plenty of flat winners in his pedigree and a more than pleased winning trainer Denis Leahy remarked: "We think he is an absolute machine!

"I think he would have won the last time when he fell in Dawstown. He is very straightforward. He is a brilliant jumper and he just missed the last today.

"We knew what we had coming here and I presume he is on the market." (EM & DM)
