David Pipe's charge was left clear three out when the freewheeling leader Valmari took an undeserved fall after a fine round of fencing to that point.
Tom Scudamore never had to let the six-year-old off the bridle to slam Court In Motion, who was more novicey at his fences than the 4/9 favourite, by four-and-a-half lengths.
Sky Bet left the winner unchanged at 6/1 for the RSA Chase at Cheltenham in March and introduced him into the Arkle market at 12/1.
Pipe said: "His jumping was neat and accurate. It probably didn't tell you a lot more but he's done it very nicely. Whether his end target will be two and a half or three miles, we don't know yet but he's safely on to the next step.
"He does go slightly left but the Feltham Chase (Kempton, December 26th) will have to come into the mix."
