Bold Sir Brian good at Sandown

Bold Sir Brian was a comfortable winner of the Sportingbet Future Stars Chase at Sandown on Friday.

Sent off as the 11/10 favourite, the six year old travelled well under Peter Buchanan having been settled last of the four runners.

Mistakes at two of the Railway Fences on the final circuit had supporters momentarily concerned, but when he moved upsides the front-running Pacha Du Polder at the Pond Fence there were none travelling better.

Grove Pride had long been left behind and when Triolo D'Alene also found the going tough turning for home, Bold Sir Brian was left to produce two sound jumps in the home straight to beat Pacha Du Polder by 16 lengths.

The runner-up had gradually warmed to his task under Ruby Walsh but had no answer when joined three from home, although he in turn was clear of the remainder.
