Apprentice Samantha Bell is set to join Richard Fahey's yard in England in the new year.

The 7lb claimer has ridden 10 winners in Ireland and will seek to further her career across the water next year.

Bell has been attached to Kevin Prendergast's yard and had her first ride in 2010. She has partnered five winners in each of the past two seasons.

“I'm heading over in the first week of January,” revealed Bell.

“I think there are better opportunities for girls in England. It's very tight in Ireland for the boys, never-mind the girls. The likes of Hayley Turner and Cathy Gannon are great role-models.

“The boss got me the job and he has been very good to me. He's given me loads of opportunities and has been brilliant. I've ridden 10 winners so far and half of them have been for him.”
