First winner for Meehan

Irishman Chris Meehan, the new conditional jockey for Neil Mulholland in England, rode his first winner on Uimhir A Seacht (6/1) at Fontwell on St Stephen's Day in a handicap hurdle.

Meehan spent time in Ireland with Brian Hamilton, Colin McBratney and Willie Mullins. This was his third ride for Mulholland.

Mulholland trains at Conkwell Grange Stables in Bath, and his most high-profile horse of recent times is Midnight Chase winner of the Grade 2 Argento Chase last season before finishing seventh to Synchronised in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham.

On his seasonal reappearance in the Grade 2 Charlie Hall at Wetherby in November he came in third behind Silviniaco Conti, and lines up this afternoon in the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown.
