While it is a blank day at home there is action today in England and this afternoon's meeting at Taunton goes ahead after the track passed a morning inspection.

Officials called an early check as a downpour on Saturday left parts of the course unraceable.

However, despite a total of 27 millimetres of rain in the last 24 hours, the track is fit to race with the going described as heavy.

Barry Geraghty travels over to take the ride on two short-priced favourites for Nicky Henderson.

There is also action on the all-weather at Lingfield while the other scheduled meeting at Haydock was abandoned yesterday due to waterlogging.

National Hunt racing in Britain on Monday looks in doubt after Warwick abandoned and Uttoxeter announced plans to inspect.

Officials at Cheltenham will inspect the track at 3pm on Monday to assess the prospects for their New Year's Day meeting.
