The ground at Fairyhouse, ahead of its meeting tomorrow is currently heavy.

The forecast is for rain, clearing later and dry overnight and tomorrow.

Racing takes place this weekend at Punchestown and Navan, and not surprisingly the going is testing at both venues.

A Grade 3 Juvenile Hurdle is the main attraction at Punchestown on Saturday, where the ground is currently heavy, soft to heavy in places, following 5mm of rain since yesterday morning.

Navan, which holds a meeting this Sunday, is currently described as heavy.

A lot has been said recently about the fact that the Irish contingent at Cheltenham tend to stoke up the fires of Anglo-Irish needle with their flag waving and chest beating due to our incredible success in recent years. As pointed out previously, this is nothing more than a bit of harmless fun that some folk on both sides of the Irish Sea take a little too seriously.
