As he's already shown 'between the flags' and on the track, Wedding Present has a lot of ability and he has a top-class attitude too as he displayed when victorious in the concluding Tipper Road (Pro/Am) Flat Race at Naas under Ciaran Fennessy.

A fortnight ago today Fennessy was enjoying the ride on Sean O'Brien's Golantilla at Cork but for the same stable here he had to exert quite a bit more energy.

When the Mullins favourite, Super Mix attacked from the quarter mile pole an air of inevitability may have hung in the air.

However Wedding Present wasn't having any of it and despite colliding with the rail inside the last, the successful Close Conflict gelding saw out the two mile three furlong trip really well to triumph by a length and a half.

O’Brien explained: "He had a great run at Leopardstown and I knew he would handle the ground because he handled it in his point-to-point.

"He travelled well too on nicer ground at Leopardstown - they called it soft there but it wasn't that soft.

"The further he goes the better. He could come back here for a winners of one in three weeks time or he could run in a maiden hurdle on the same card." (GC & EM)
