Trainer David Marnane expects More Than Sotka to be able to build on her latest third in Thursday's UAE 1000 Guineas Trial.

The French recruit, who won a Listed race at Vichy last summer, was third behind the Godolphin pair Music Chart and Shuruq.

"We are very happy with the run, her first on tapeta, having been off the track since September," said the Tipperary trainer.

"The UAE 1000 Guineas (February 7) will be her next target, a Listed race, run on the same surface over a mile.

"She handled the Tapeta nicely and showed a likeable attitude in the closing stages.

"The step up in distance in the opening fillies' classic will suit and she will improve for the race."

Marnane always targets the Dubai Carnival and his other runner, Red Dubawi, also an ex-French runner for owner Zalim Bifov, was eighth in a 10-furlong handicap.

"He will be sharper for the race and will step him back in distance for his next run, whilst a switch to Tapeta is an option," Marnane told his website.

"He will come on for the run and strip fitter next time."
