Today's meeting at Ayr is still in some doubt with a further inspection planned for mid-day but all-weather action at Lingfield and Kempton has been given the go ahead.

Emma Marley, the clerk of the course at Ayr, had an initial look in advance of her planned 7.30am check and decided another inspection was necessary at 10.45am after temperatures fell below freezing overnight.

The track tweeted: "Second inspection necessary 10.45am @ayrracecourse as -2c o'night, 0c now and forecast to get 2c."

That proved inconclusive as Ms Marley tweeted, "Inspection 12pm as need more time to thaw in a couple of places @ayrracecourse - up to the Jockeys/Trainers now. 1c."

Lingfield's clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie Ross called an inspection for 7am due to the threat of overnight snow.

However, Mackenzie Ross reports the track to be ready for action, with the going described as standard.

Kempton had planned to inspect at 10am due to the forecast for overnight snow, but the track is reported to be fit to race.

They had lost their last two meetings, on Sunday and Monday, due to snow and ice.
