Rebel Fitz could run in the Red Mills Trial Hurdle at Gowran next month before a possible assault at the Stan James Champion Hurdle.

Last year's Galway Hurdle winner was defeated as the odds-on favourite in a Grade Two at Tipperary in October, but remains in contention for the Cheltenham Festival.

"He is in great form and has been swanning around the place," said trainer Michael Winters.

"In a fortnight's time there's the race at Gowran Park and we are thinking of going there.

"We'll also probably give him an entry at the next stage (of the Champion Hurdle)."
