Six-times Group One-winning mare Midday has given birth to her first foal at Juddmonte Farms' Banstead Manor Stud.

The Sir Henry Cecil-trained daughter of Oasis Dream enjoyed a fantastic racing career before being retired at the end of 2011, winning the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood for three successive years and landing the Breeders' Cup Filly And Mare Turf in 2009.

On January 16 the seven-year-old gave birth to a Galileo colt, described by stud manager Simon Mockridge as "strong and muscular, an excellent first foal".

The colt was foaled unusually, although perhaps aptly given the dam's name, at just before 12 noon.

Midday will form part of Frankel's stellar first book of mares for 2013.

Juddmonte Farms general manager Philip Mitchell said: "Midday has taken to motherhood exceptionally well and we are delighted with her foal.

"She will visit Frankel in 2013 and obviously the resultant progeny will have huge potential."
