Less rain than forecast overnight means racing goes ahead as planned at Leicester today.

Clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson was able to cancel a 7.45am inspection ahead of the all-chase card.

He said: "I'm really pleased. I wasn't looking forward to this morning to be honest as the last forecast I saw for last night was for 25 millimetres of rain, but we only had five millimetres with wind.

"It's heavy, but I'm quite happy with it. There's the chance of the odd shower, but mainly dry with the wind keeping going."

Tony McCoy is in action on the card with five rides, including a couple of short price favourites for David PIpe.

Tomorrow's all-chase card at Wincanton is subject to a precautionary inspection at 12.30pm this afternoon.

Officials at Chepstow have called an inspection for 8am on Thursday ahead of the meeting planned for Friday.
