Treadwell gets hefty ban at Leicester

Liam Treadwell received a 12-day ban from the Leicester stewards after he took the wrong course aboard Special Robon.

The Grand National-winning jockey steered his mount wide to bypass the fourth-last obstacle when in fact it was the third from home which was to be omitted, and offered no excuse after the race.

In an incident-packed contest, AP McCoy found himself dumped on top of the first fence when his mount Franklin Roosevelt all-but refused to jump, having been sent off a well-backed favourite.

Victory went the way of Lough Coi who denied the well-backed Seventh Hussar under James Banks.
