Vic Canvas ran out an easy winner of the Man v's Beast turn2me.org Challenge on Saturday 9th March Handicap Hurdle for trainer Dermot McLoughlin with Conor Maxwell in the saddle.

The 10yo son of Old Vic opened at 7/2 this morning with Paddy Power and opened on track at 11/4 before drifting all the way out to 4/1 co favourite of three at the off.

Turning for home he travelled best and he hit the front on the run to the last before going clear to score by an easy seven lengths. Sumkindasuprstar (4/1 co favourite) finished back in second under Ben Dalton for John Clifford while Rogue Angel was a further thirteen lengths back in third under Davy Russell for Mouse Morris at 5/1. Followmeuptocarlow was the other 4/1 co favourite but he slipped up at around the halfway stage.

Dermot McLoughlin said afterwards: "When he is right, he is very good. The whole job is keeping him right. He has had ulcers and leg trouble and sometimes it’s hard to get him to eat a bit.

"He goes on any sort of ground. I had a few things mapped out for him but sure I will see what the handicapper does now."
