The stock of deceased German stallion Monsun continue to carry all before them and at the modest level of the Ladies Day At Ballinrobe Maiden his son Jack Daddy justified good support as the even money favourite under Shane 'Dusty' Foley.

Joe Murphy 's charge led leaving the back straight and try as Benash might he was never going to bridge the gap inside the last, two and a quarter lengths separating the pair at the line.

Murphy said: "It was a soft maiden but he's a genuine, small, bonny, little horse. He'd turn on a sixpence so this track suited him perfectly.

"Shane kept it nice and simple. The handicapper has been hard on the horse though he's in a big handicap at the Curragh at the weekend. If there's a little ease in the ground he'll take his chance.

"I think he'll improve as he's a May foal – the 30th of May in fact.

"He'd pull a plough for you he's so genuine.

"He's owned by Jack Dorian and his relations in New York. Unfortunately Jack missed it as he's still travelling back.

"He's a long-standing owner of ours and I'm delighted for him." (TW & EM)
