Scream Blue Murder was out of the money in the Dubai International Airport World Trophy.

Tommy Stack's filly went over to Newbury on the back of a Group Three win over six furlongs at the Curragh, but on the drop to the minimum trip, she faded from a furlong out and crossed the line in fifth place behind impressive winner Mecca's Angel.

Winner of a good Listed race at Doncaster last week, Michael Dods' three-year-old filly took her game to the next level by pocketing this Group Three.

Jockey Paul Mulrennan stated his intentions quite early on as the partnership went for broke three furlongs out. Justice Day tried really hard, but Mecca's Angel was two and a half lengths too speedy.

Ted Powell's Ajjaadd was a creditable third.

Speaking from Ayr, Dods said: "Paul has given her a great ride. She's picked up and quickened up well."

When asked if connections would consider supplementing her for the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp, Dods said: "We'll see."

However, owner David Metcalfe said: "We are looking after her and you won't see her in the Abbaye this year. It will be next season that we do that."

Mulrennan said: "This has worked out well for me. The ground went on the easy side, which was good news for this filly.

"She did it well and battled on really good. She's a filly with a lot of speed and you might get a Group One out of her."
