Eddie Harty is looking forward to sending Minella Foru chasing this season.

A Grade Three winner over timber, the JP McManus-owned five-year-old finished sixth in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham in March.

With the ground currently on the fast side in parts of Ireland, Harty is waiting for rain before taking the wraps off the gelding.

"He'll have an entry for Punchestown next week, but looking at the forecast I can't see there being enough rain," said the handler. "He's ready to go, but just needs more of an ease.

"I thought he ran a very good race in the County Hurdle as that was his first run in a handicap and I'm sure the ground was too quick for him.

"He's won a point-to-point, so was always going to be a chaser, but was good enough to win a Grade Three over hurdles.

"He's got plenty of experience jumping and I'm looking forward to it."
