Aidan O'Brien is looking forward to stepping Qualify up in distance in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita on Friday.

The daughter of Fastnet Rock was an impressive winner of the Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh at the end of September.

O'Brien said: "Qualify is in very good form and I thought a mile on grass would suit her especially well. Since we changed tactics with her, it has gone better."

Richard Hannon admits a good start will be imperative if Osaila can cap a memorable first season for the trainer with a Breeders' Cup winner

Osalia has done her bit for the British champion trainer-elect, winning the Group Three Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot in July and finishing a close fifth in the Moyglare Stud Stakes.

She also turned in a dominant display to take top honours in a Newmarket sales race earlier this month.

The Al Shaqab Racing-owned filly will be partnered by Frankie Dettori for her Californian mission.

"American racing is all about speed, so Osaila will need to break well from stall two, otherwise she will get stuck in traffic on the inside rail," the trainer told his website, www.richardhannonracing.co.uk.

"However, she comes here with good solid form. Apart from the Prix Marcel Boussac, there was probably not a stronger two-year-old fillies race in Europe all season than the Moyglare, so if she can bring that run to the table here she could be a big player.

"Obviously, we are in the dark as to the quality of the Americans, but we have always liked Osaila and we think this trip will suit her well."

Dettori said: "Her form is rock-solid and she has a good draw, which helps."

Heading the home challenge is Wesley Ward's Sunset Glow, who found only Cursory Glance too strong in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot and has since struck twice on the Polytrack at Del Mar.

"She has a great starting spot in gate three and is in really fantastic shape as well," said Ward.

"I'm looking forward to her and I'm really excited about it, so hopefully things go well."
