Patrick Mullins was delighted that everything went right on a big weekend for the yard which resulted in eight winners.

Assistant to his father, champion trainer Willie Mullins, he felt they might be pushing their luck for all their big guns to win but Faugheen struck at Ascot, Vautour made a successful return at Navan and the likes of Tell Us More, Douvan and Ballycasey were all on the mark at Gowran.

The younger Mullins even got in on the act by riding Lyrical Theatre to an easy victory in a Listed bumper at Navan, with only three of their 11 runners over the two days failing to win.

"It was an excellent weekend," Mullins told At The Races.

"People might think things like this happen all the time but they don't, you usually get a faller or something.

"Everything just went right.

"You'd have to say Vautour was the highlight, he looks a complete natural (over fences).

"It looks like dad made the right call again with sending him chasing and keeping Faugheen over hurdles."
