Bobs Worth is on course to bid for back-to-back victories in the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown on December 28.

The 2013 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero is set have his first run of the campaign in the three-mile Grade One which he won last Christmas by a length and a half from First Lieutenant.

Fifth behind Lord Windermere in last season's Gold Cup, the Nicky Henderson-trained nine-year-old had been held up in his work - he underwent a trachea wash on Monday - but is now being prepared for a return to the track.

"He's entered for the Lexus, and that's where we're heading. That's the plan," said Malcolm Kimmins, head of the syndicate of owners, The Not Afraid Partnership.

"He's fine, he's cantering nicely and we'll be ready to go, hopefully at the end of December, if all goes according to plan."
