Kevin Prendergast is hopeful of a bold performance from Katie T in the Roy Evans/Barry Geraghty Golf Classic Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Saturday.

Prendergast has been a household name in Flat racing for the past half-century but the veteran Curragh trainer has always liked a few jumpers in his care, and Katie T is a very interesting runner

The five-year-old daughter of Beneficial progressed well over hurdles earlier this year, winning a maiden at Naas before landing the Grade Three Kerry Group EBF Mares Novice Hurdle at Limerick.

She then filled third spot behind Annie Power when tackling Grade One company at the Punchestown Festival, and made a successful return to action after a summer break when switched to the level at Leopardstown last month.

"She's in good form. It's her first handicap hurdle and a very competitive race, but hopefully she'll run well. She won on the Flat at Leopardstown last month and has done well since," said Prendergast.

Dangers abound in the 16-runner affair, with the powerful Willie Mullins yard represented by Shamar, while recent Down Royal winner Stocktons Wing is another to consider along with Dandridge and Elishpour.
