FormscanBy Tom Weekes - OPERA SINGER was a top juvenile last year and while she missed the English 1,000 Guineas having met with a setback, it is encouraging she contests today's classic. By City Of Troy's sire Justify, she has her first run as a three-year-old and meets high-class race-fit rivals but herself won the Prix Marcel Boussac by five lengths last October, having progressed very well through last year. Vespertilio finished a close third in the recent French 1,000 Guineas and while she has proven recent form, would probably have a better chance if the ground became easier. She was beaten by Fallen Angel here last September but that rival was herself reasonably well held in the recent English Guineas.
