Grand gets it right 12 months on
He came with a huge reputation (won a point-to-point for Liam Burke) and he is a big horse that jumps well. He had plenty done at home and he was ready for today.
The Fonze scores for red-hot Doyle & Barry
He loves it around here. Shay said he was hating the ground at the top of the hill but he came up the hill at the end strongly. He is so highly rated that it is hard to know where he'll go next. If we could find a suitable race for him at Cheltenham he'd go there. He is not as effective over hurdles but he is only rated 114 at that game so we have the option of going for a handicap.
Slattery does it again in handicap chase
He is owned by a neighbour of mine in Martin Brennan. I might run him again at Thurles on Thursday and that will be it until the summer because he wants really goodish ground. Davy Condon was the man who gave us the key to him and the secret is to switch him off. Davy (Russell) gave him a brilliant ride there.
Doyle & Barry continue dream run
He is a good little horse and he jumped and travelled great. We might give him a Cheltenham entry now but we'll probably have to get another win into him to get in there.
That is the owner, Michael Duggan's first winner. He is from Carrick-On-Suir, Co Tipperary and that's around his fourth run for him. My two runners were third and first so it is a great start to 2010 and please God he'll win again on the flat.
Kusadasi lands Tramore gamble
He deserved that. He was a little unlucky at Downpatrick last time (2nd to Awkward Moment). He'll go a little further next time and step into novice company perhaps. Martin Gleeson, the part owner, is from Swinford in Co Mayo and he is out foreign at the moment. Hopefully this fellow will win another for us.
Kennedy off mark as a pro
He is hard to train, when I think he's in good form he runs poor and he ran badly here yesterday. We were going to give up on him if he had run bad again today. Here he didn't come off the bridle at all and I have no explanation for it.
