Vinny strikes in opener
He's back to himself. He did what the handicapper said he should do,. Ruby was happy enough with him and said that he jumped better than at Cheltenham. We'll aim him at Punchestown now. He's in the stayers and champion hurdle but the stayers is more likely. We'll decide after that what to do next year but he'll probably go back chasing.
Pin scores in style for Martin
He just missed out getting into the National and is an unlucky horse,. He's always been very unlucky and has only won a couple of hurdles and one chase. The boys have stuck with him though and it's great that he won today. He could go to Punchestown for something if the ground remains similar.
Mullins and Walsh double up with Mourad
The trip seems to suit him and it was probably a blessing in disguise that he missed Cheltenham,. We'll go to Punchestown now and I think I have him in the stayers hurdle. He's never been to three miles but I think he'll be better over longer. He'll improve as well for better ground and I was surprised he won on that ground. I was thinking about pulling him out this morning but having missed Cheltenham didn't want to disappoint the owners and decided to run.
Bluesea proves National Cracker
I can't believe it. She's been a fantastic mare for us,. I walked the track at 12 this morning and was worried about getting home in the ground. I skipped a heartbeat going to the last but then jumped six feet into the air after it!. We found that she has been far more settled this year and if she was ever going to go for an Irish National it was this season. All credit to Andy. I wanted to drop in but he said he wanted to be mid-division as they wouldn't be gaining much ground in the conditions. He's a cool man and he waited for the last minute until he had to go. He lifted her over the last three. I just can't believe it.
Last Instalment wins for sponsor
He is a beautiful horse, a real chaser and he jumps particularly well. He was just as impressive when he won his Point to Point in November. We will put him away now and bring him back next season for a spell over hurdles, but chasing will be his game. Dunguib is in great form, absolutely bouncing. We have two options for Punchestown and are not ruling out the Champion Hurdle on the Friday. It is not as strong a race as you might expect so we will have a close look at it before making a decision.
Psycho cruises to novice success
His strong point is his jumping. He's as natural as I've ever seen, so nimble and accurate, and showed from the first day that he's a pure natural,. We only stuck him him tomorrow as a precaution and he won't run. Hopefully he pulls out of this well and we'll go to Punchestown. I would love to have a crack at the Grade One novice over two miles. I didn't take them on yesterday (Powers Gold Cup) as I wanted to get another run into him. The Irish ones that run yesterday would be doing well to pull out of that and win at Punchestown.
Shuil makes it four for Ruby
Off her hurdles mark she was thrown in getting all the allowances,. She's been frustrating but has plenty of ability. Ruby said she absolutely loves jumping. The ground had to be a bit of a concern as most of her best form is on better. On a going day she's not too bad and today was a going day. We'll look at a handicap chase at Punchestown for her.
Barneys welcome winner for Rothwell
I've had three weeks of seconds and thirds!. I said to the lads that this horse would win if he jumps well. He has improved so much at home but his jumping was sketchy. Declan gets on really well with him.
