David best on outing two
I was confident from there, though when some of them come off the bridle they're gone but he galloped on. He felt nice today and the ground out there has dried out incredibly well. He came forward nicely from his first run. We liked him before that and he ran well first time when he was very green. He should have no problem stepping up now and he picked up nicely today.
Princess Sinead rules at the Curragh
I'm delighted. The extra furlong helped and maybe the ease in the ground. She ran twice at six furlongs and was always coming home at Naas. Fran was delighted with her and the owner who has Laughing Lashes with me, sent me this filly after that one had won. We'll see how she comes out of this. She's very big and it is surprising she's running so well so early. She'll have a Moyglare entry and maybe one more run before then.
Experience continues her rise up the ranks
She is a classy filly and did it well. She has plenty of speed, a touch of class and would like better ground like a lot of the Excellent Arts. Wayne was happy with her and she is very straight-forward. She has plenty of size and strength, she has a high cruising speed and quickened well. She is in everything . the Lowther and she might step-up to seven furlongs later on for the Moyglare. We have a few other reasonable fillies so we'll have to sort them out and see where we are.
Misty For Me glows in the Pretty Polly
Henry (Cecil, trainer of Midday) said he was very impressed. He was happy with his own filly and he's a special man. We're delighted with Misty For Me and she had the form on the board. Things didn't work out at Epsom (5th in the Oaks) and that can happen. She's been very well since and Seamie gave her a beautiful ride and got her into a lovely rhythm. We learned a lot from Epsom and that was her first time over a mile and a half which we weren't sure about and we might have restricted her too much. That was a very slowly run race as they only raced for three furlongs. No horse really changed position then but we're very happy with her today and she got a great ride. It's very possible that she could go for the Irish Oaks now but we also have Wonder Of Wonders for that. Misty For Me would have no problem sticking at ten furlongs and we'll have to go home and talk about it.
Red Cadeaux thrashes Curragh Cup rivals
He was favourite to win the Chester Cup but he didn't like the ground. He won a Listed handicap at Hamilton after that and on his last run at Pontefract he was coming to win when he got knocked over. He loves that ground, he stays well and he was very impressive. We might have to bring him back for the Irish Leger now.
Generation back in business at the Curragh
It was a hard ask against older horses last time. We learned a good bit from that though and this was always on the agenda if the handicapper gave us a chance. This was too big a pot to pass up. We intended to jump out and make all and they put it up to her and she fought back. She is a lovely filly, she's done nothing but progress and the only thing we weren't sure about was the ground. She's in the Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse on Wednesday and if she's okay we'll take a pot at that. From now on we'll try to get black-type as it is an owner/breeder set-up.
Silk Hall surprises plenty but not Lambe
He was left too much to do in Killarney last time. He was a very very good horse for Alan King and he chased home Starluck over hurdles as a four-year-old. He was fifth in a very good hurdle at Aintree with Riverside Theatre and Somersby around him. He was a very good horse as a four-year-old when he was rated 147. We knew what we had after Killarney. He'll go for the GPT (the amateur handicap on the Monday night at Galway) now and that should leave him spot on for it. He will improve as he hasn't been drove at home. I told Chris that he'd gallop and was laden with stamina.
Freedom makes it three for O'Brien in finale
It was his first run of the season. He is a bit lazy but he tanked a little bit early on under Joseph and he had to go with him. He won well enough at the line. He is a grand hose and we'll see where he stands now.
