Security scores for Meade/Flanagan
I thought he’d win, as he ran very well in Leopardstown and Sean (Flanagan) thought the ground was a bit quick for him then and said he was flat out from the second last. He won a bumper on soft ground and I think he’s a reasonable horse. I suppose he’ll go for a winners race but we’ll see what way the handicapper rates him. It’s so difficult at the moment because no matter what race you go for, a grade three or one, they are all the same and you run into the same horses. It’s the same for any of those horses that win - the next step is a big one. Sean is a very good rider and I couldn’t be happier with him. He’s growing in confidence all the time and the more confidence he gets the better he rides.

Death Duty wins dramatic Grade 1 'decider'
to be honest I thought they didn’t go fast enough - I thought Blood Crazed Tiger would make them go a good gallop and our lad is just an out-and-out stayer.

he stayed at it well and he’s a horse we liked all the time - he was just big and weak last year. It took a bit of time to get him to settle and we’ve done a lot of work with him over the last few months. He’s settled well, we’ve taken off all the headgear and he stayed out the trip. I just thought he might need the run today but obviously he didn’t. There is a good bit more to come I think and when we do go back over fences we have a nice horse. He’s a much more settled horse this year and we’ll have a little bit of fun with him.

Meade seeks sale of wife's winner!
I thought he was quite good although we came we were fancying him really well but by the time it came around to the race, there were that many of them fancied I thought ‘Christ almighty!. He actually came out of the Derby Sale and it’s quite difficult to buy a horse in June, break him and have him back that quick but everything he’s done, he’s done very easy. He’s done a couple of pieces of work but he’s never really been taken off the bridle at home and he’s probably a very good horse I’d say.
