Westerner toughs it out in opener
We'll either go to Gowran on March 11th next with him or there's also a race at Leopardstown on March 5th - they're two handicaps,. We've got great fun out of him and I'm delighted with him - if we got one more like that we'd be sorted! We'll keep going as long as it's heavy.
Acebo accepts gifts in mares novice
Soldier's stamina wins the day
He is making good progress and while he made heavy weather of it, once Ruby made up his mind for him he made nice progress,. We'll stick in the staying division. I don't think any horse is happy on that ground today - it's tough to race on. He's a horse who never shows me much at home but he obviously has a lot more in the locker than he lets on to have. But I like horses who improve unexpectedly and he's one of those. He wants a trip and 2m4f is as short as he wants - he seems to go on that ground but maybe he wants it better. I'll probably keep him at home and look for a staying novice.
Taxie finally gets his turn
He loved the ground, had his trip and Davy gave him a super ride,. He might get a little break now, after his win, and in fairness to him he has always run his race. He'll go chasing next season.
O'Neill shines on Sutton
He was entitled to win on his recent form and Lisa gave him a great ride - she's a small thing but is a great bit of stuff. She does everything in the yard and is a great worker,. He could run in the Pertemps if he gets in off a low weight, otherwise he'll go for something at home. He'll go chasing in the autumn.
Walton and Winters team up with Meadow
He was promising enough before getting an injury and then struggled to find his form when he came back,. We worked him harder during the week thinking it would either kill him or cure him. He was entitled to win a race. Jane is working in Duhallow with Damian Murphy (Foxhunters Chase winning jockey) where he has a nice yard set up.
Martello Park off the mark in style
I'm delighted with her and she's very consistent. It's also my first winner for my son Anthony (joint-owner) so I'm charmed!. I'll see what next but she could go hurdling - she jumps well.
