Craic opens chase account in style

He loves jumping fences. He was a bit disappointing at Kilbeggan but the track was a bit sharp for him and we said we’d go chasing. He’s a fine big horse and won a point-to-point for Enda and he had all the work done with him. He likes making the running and I’d say he likes a bit of nice ground too. Hopefully we’ll get something again for him soon.

Conn comes good for Ryan

He’s annoyed me more than any other horse that I’ve ever trained. He’s loads of ability and is out of a real good mare. He always makes one mistake too many. The ground and everything was in his favour today and if he didn’t win we were in trouble. He’ll go for a nice handicap chase now that we have got him winning at long last.

I’m originally from this neck of the woods so I like to come down here and have a winner. Andrew was very good on him, and he had to be very strong. He made a mistake down the back and I thought that’s it he’s gone. It was his first run in a handicap (over fences). I was hopeful and he’s run plenty of races over hurdles. He was to run in Ballinrobe last week but had a stone bruise. I thought he would have won over hurdles before now and he has a few options now.

Short completes quick double on Dawn

It’s lovely to win another chase with her, and Adam gave her a super ride. She’s in Downpatrick tomorrow in what looks like an ordinary chase again, and we’ll see how she is in the morning. We might just try again. She stayed going really well as Danny looking like he was coming to beat us but she put her head down and battled really well. Weight I suppose helped too.
