Rockview Roman We knew he had a race in him off that mark but the draw was putting me off and the surface was a bit of an unknown,. He had a very bad accident around this time last year. He got a very bad cut and we nearly lost him so that’s why he was off the track for so long. Hopefully he’ll make up for lost time now.

Aa Bee See That was great. It's the first time in a long while that he's got his ground. Conditions suited him today in a low grade handicap. He lost his form last year. He was second in Tramore, then he ran in Galway in a Flat race and came home lame. We ran him in a few hurdle races but I could never get him right after. The ground suited today and the conditions of the race.

Advanced Virgo He's a lovely horse. It probably wasn't the best maiden hurdle. He had a nice run in Wexford and was probably a bit unlucky that day. He had a nice enough comeback run and the form of the race in Killarney had been working out. As regards a maiden hurdle for Navan, it probably wasn't the hottest but he's a nice horse. He'll probably go handicapping now and he'll definitely get further as he got two miles on the Flat.

Valeria Messalina She won a barrier trial here, and is very like (half-brother) Pincheck as she really wants it. She puts her head down and tries,. She’s a smashing big filly and we’ll see how we get on from here. I’d say she’ll run again this year. She knew where she was and she knew where the winning post was.

Piece Of Paradise The blinkers were a big help. She was backing off the gate on her first couple of runs and the blinkers just concentrated her a bit. We thought she'd win the last twice and hopefully she can build on this. She handled the ground but came down the ambulance track so to say she wants soft ground might be a stretch of the imagination. I might enter her in the Listed race at the Curragh on Friday. She gets five well and might get six. It is not easy for those fillies to carry top weight in those auction races and she's after winning now which is the main thing.

Romanised It's lovely to see that. He's been in good shape this year. He had two lovely runs in Group One company and he appreciated dropping in grade. Billy was delighted with him and he said when the gap came he quickened up very smartly. He said when he got to the front he was always just doing enough. He's gone very professional this year, more relaxed and easier to deal with. I thought it was a lovely performance. I'm pleased because you are nearly on a hiding to nothing, you're nearly expected to win, and you'd be hoping that it works out like that but it rarely does in racing. He'll come out of the race well and he'll go the Jacques Marois next. There was just a big gap between Ascot and the Jacques Marois, the guts of eight weeks, and I just thought he'd need something to keep him at a level. I'm delighted. I'd probably prefer to being going back to seven with him rather than going a mile-and-a-one or two today. What helped was that Billy said they went a good pace. He needed them too really, to be fair. He said from halfway he was happy with him. I thought he quickened well there, he switched leads, like a nice horse. He said when he got there he was like 'oh I've enough done' which is nice as well. Billy was very good on him. I was kind of looking at the Prix de la Foret last year (over seven) but thought maybe the round track at Longchamp would be too sharp for him. I don't know now. That opens up options.

Prince Of Naples I'm delighted. I thought Robbie gave him an absolutely gorgeous ride because I thought at one stage he was in trouble,. He said it just took him a while to get going and for the penny to drop. He said he absolutely loved that ground and he hit the line really well. Robbie said he's just a really nice horse. I didn't give him any big entries because until they won you can't really chuck them in. There are still lots of nice races and we might go for a winners of one because he still needs to learn a bit more. He's very well bred, he's Holy Roman Emperor, so maybe a bid will come in for him. We haven't sold a horse for a while and it's nice for the business — it takes the pressure off me. It's ultimately John's decision. We've always really liked him, he's a bonny little horse.

Roman Turbo He's a lovely smart horse. We thought he was ready to start, and thought he'd run well, but we weren't sure if he was good enough to win a Derby weekend maiden,. He was professional. He had the benefit of running in a barrier trial at Naas and I suppose that was as good as a run to him. We thought this was a nice place to get him started, on a nice track. Ronan said he just took a heave with him and got a little bit tired. I'd say he's smart. I'd say our two-year-olds might be smart enough. He's only the third one we've run and two have won first time out. I'd say it's a record for me to train two two-year-olds winners first time out!. I thought he'd come on from it as he's like me he thrives. We'll step him up now and could look at something like the Angelsey. He's very straight-forward and Ronan said when the gates opened he knew what to do. The owner is from Hong Kong. We had a horse for him last year, Little Turbo, and he won for us last year. He has two with us this year.

Finding Nero That was great — what a ride!. He said he's still a bit babyish, he's not sure because one minute he's keen and the next he's off the bridle. In all fairness when he wanted him in the last 150 yards he quickened up well through the gap. Mentally he's probably still a little bit weak, and still has a little bit to go, but hopefully after today, with that race under his belt, he'll improve. Hopefully he can win another one of those before the year is out.
