Boot Camp The horse came home but he was behind the bridle the whole way and we had a hood on him and Davy (Russell) said maybe we should leave it off the next day. He said the ground was maybe as tight as he would have wanted it, he wasn't really letting himself down on it. He was there at the right end of it, thank God. We'll keep him going over the summer. He'll jump a fence at some stage.

Decision Time It's nice to come up here and have an animal that justifies it. She's consistent and wanted good ground, I won't say this ground, but she seemed to handle it and hopefully she's okay after it.

Blondes No More It was a weak race but I'm delighted to get it. I had planned about going the handicapping road with her but her owner Mark McDonagh, who is at a Rolling Stones concert today, spotted this race a few weeks ago and it has worked out great,. She'll tip away for the summer on the handicap route now. I had her mother (Sallyanka) and she won two bumpers and while this one isn't as speedy, she is tough and genuine and will come on a lot from that.

Citizen Al we're not shocked but are surprised as the ground dried up so much. She ran very well when staying on at Limerick the last day but today we thought she'd be caught for toe because of the ground. That's the last horse my late father E.J. bred, it's the first horse owned by my brother William and his son Alan, who the horse is named after, led her up, so it's a pure family story. We didn't plan further than today but we'll probably race her away and keep her for breeding.

Moonshine Bay He made hard work of that but he got the job done. He'll probably head to the field now and go chasing next autumn. He's a massive chasing type and he's only going to improve over the winter with a summer grass under his belt. He's a proper stayer and hopefully he might turn into one of those kind of National-type horses in a couple of years time.

Macgiloney Barry gave him a lovely ride. It was a small field but it looked a strong bumper on paper. It's only ten days since he was third in a maiden hurdle and he'd only one bit of minor work since so I was hopeful rather than confident. I'm delighted for the owner (Michael Moloney) who has been with me a while and this looks a promising horse. He was third in a point-to-point to Danny Kirwan and could have been sold but he's repaid him now. He’ll go hurdling now. The horses are running well and hopefully we can go on now and have a good summer.

Josies Orders He (Enda Bolger) has been a massive supporter of mine and obviously I wouldn't have had all the Cheltenham winners without him or JP (McManus) so I'm very grateful. Obviously Noel Meade is a massive supporter and very loyal to me the whole time and Gordon Elliott too. I couldn't have been here without all them. Obviously Gigginstown gave me plenty of winners as well. I'm sad and I'm happy! I'm sad that it is all finished and I'll miss the banter in the room but happy that there is a new career in front. I am stuck for words. I am so happy for her. You always got 110 per cent from her. I left it all to her. She's a Carberry and they are natural horse people.

Lakemilan She's done that well and I suppose when the favourite fell it was a help. She will mix it over the summer and it would be great to get a bit of black type with her,.
Fairyhouse Thu, 19th Apr, 2018
Madera Express I'm delighted for the Doyles as they've been great supporters of mine,. They have the whole family at home and it's great to win a bumper with her as she's the first out of an unraced mare. When we were walking out of here the other night she wasn't running but when I saw the small field we decided to have a look. She's off out for the summer now and we'll have her back early in the autumn to go hurdling.
Tramore Sun, 15th Apr, 2018
Decision Time I'm delighted to have a winner for such a decent family (owners, the Gleesons), they have always been great supporters of me and of Tramore. It's a thrill to be able to give Davy his first winner after yesterday. I doubted that he would turn up today because he was dragged here and there and everywhere! . He gave Tiger Roll a great ride. As did Derek (O'Connor) on Balnaslow. I thought his approach to the Canal Turn was brilliant. It's lovely to witness sport like this.

Judkin He was one of the fastest horses I've ever had when he came in training, and has never run a bad race and cantered up at Lismore. He'll be out to grass now and is really a horse to look forward to. We think a lot of him and he'll go hurdling next season. I rate him highly and he has a lovely attitude and is from the family of One Man.

Luckyinmilan It was an exceptional ride from Barry and you'd want to know him. From a neutral point of view at certain stages you'd say he was beaten but he never gives up. He'll keep going at whatever speed he's at and he was a bit in front for a while on his own. He's a real soft ground horse and it might be hard to get it soft like that again before the end of the season.
Clonmel Tue, 20th Mar, 2018
Luckyinmilan He jumped well throughout. We thought 2m 7f here might be a horrid slog (the last race on the card) and two miles on this ground would be like 2m 2f. Barry claimed five pound - he knows him well and gave him a great ride. He's a real soft ground horse so time is probably running out on him. We'll see what happens and there could be another run in him yet.
Leopardstown Fri, 9th Mar, 2018
Jezki It's great to see him back although he did his best to capsize at the last. Barry said he was very long but he quickened up well after it. I'm delighted with him and it's great to win another race with him. The race was almost written with him in mind. He may go to Aintree or may go to Punchestown. It will depend on the ground. He will go to one of those two.
Thurles Thu, 8th Mar, 2018
Goodthynemilan I thought she might only be good enough to finish third to be honest on ratings but she is honest and she jumps and gallops. I think I might be able to win one more race with her.
Fairyhouse Wed, 14th Feb, 2018
Nicole's Milan I was under pressure having an odds-on shot here at Fairyhouse but he’s a nice little horse and did it well. He wants a trip and maybe a better gallop,. He goes well on the ground and likes this place - horses for courses. He’ll go into handicaps now and is a good little jumper.
Leopardstown Sun, 4th Feb, 2018
Monalee I'm, absolutely delighted. He jumped brilliant and Noel was fantastic on him. Davy (Russell) couldn’t commit with Cheltenham in mind so Noel stepped in and we’ll rock on to Cheltenham now. He's some horse and it has been fantastic to get him here and I have to say it's a credit to everyone at home and there's a great team behind him and I'm delighted to get him back. We'll speak to the owners but the RSA (Chase) would be the obvious race for him at Cheltenham. It's brilliant for Noel as well.
