Cilaos Emery the first half of Luke's plan has gone to plan anyway!. I thought he was very impressive what he did, especially after his mistake at the third last. What he did in between the third last and the last was what impressed me. It's very hard for any horse to be impressive, visually, on that ground and in that weather. I'd imagine that might mean he goes to the Champion Hurdle now. It was debated what chance would he have in the Champion Chase and what chance might he have in the Champion Hurdle. It was decided then that we'd run today, see what happens and that would make up our mind. We keep coming back to saying that he has as much of a chance in the Champion Hurdle as he has in the Champion Chase. That's the reasoning behind where we are going.

Lady Heath I tell you what there are good surprises and bad surprises and this is a very good surprise!. This was a hot race and I declared her when it was yielding to soft and I thought 'oh no, it's gone soft' but we have gone this far, so I let her take her chance. I said to the jockey to ride her to finish the race and if you finish in mid-division that's a great result. She has got the most phenomenal attitude and she loves her work. She does everything so easy but I was not expecting that and I am delighted. She is such a good filly at home and just loves to get down to work. It's a sign that the horses are in good form. I haven't had a runner for a good while and hopefully the others might run okay. She's a bit of a gauge for me. John, my late father-in-law, trained the dam and Tom (Bruton, owner) bred her. Today was meant to be a nice, educational run. She had to start somewhere but we said we would take our chance and see where we go. The phone can buzz away - it is totally up to Tom. I'm hoping we will have a bit of fun with her.

Cilaos Emery it was a good performance and he always promised plenty. It was a pity he missed most of last season but he making up for it now and I'd imagine Willie will find another similar contest for him and hopefully he'll continue stepping up the ladder. You'd hope he will reach Grade 1 standard — he has done it over hurdles and he jumps fences well. For a small field it was a very competitive race today.

Cilaos Emery that was very impressive for a horse with such little experience. Ornua is obviously a Grade 1 winner and we were getting a lot of weight. He wasn’t going to be easy to place this year with just one run as a novice. I’m not sure what the plan is now but he has a lot of ability and will probably be kept to two miles for the moment. He’s only had two runs over fences and maybe it would be best to take baby steps and get more experience into him. Today was an ideal race with just four runners and they were well spread out. His jumping has always been good.
