Cj Cregg She is a great little filly and as a three-year-old she went to Troytown for massive colic surgery. It was very touch and go with her then and they put a lot of time into her. My parents took her home and rehabilitated her for five months and to come back and win two like that is great and it is great for Amy too. She has been placed a lot of times and that is her first winner. She is with me two years and is a very good horse woman and just needs the breaks to get a chance. I thought the ground would be soft and told my sister (owner Debbie McConnell) that she had no chance but she got away with it and I'd say there is a little more improvement in her. She is not big but is cat-like enough to be able to jump hurdles but we'll follow the Flat path for now. She could go to Galway.

Drombeg Dream Shane Foley liked her and said she'd definitely get black-type somewhere along the line, he didn't know when, it could be the end of the year. She has improved from last year. She was a little bit keen early on and two furlongs down you'd imagine she was only going to be third but she stuck at it. That is the first time ever she has had to battle a good bit as normally she is a few lengths clear with a furlong to go. We have the Athasi Stakes (Curragh, May 6th) mapped in for Monday week provided we get a downpour the night before.

Alfredo Arcano He's a very good horse. He's just so much better around a bend and on the all-weather,. I know he ran really well in Dubai, when he was beaten a couple of short-heads on the opening night. He got a stone bruise two weeks after that and we were on the back foot over there. I was delighted with his first run and he could be a horse for the dirt there next year. He's a 100 plus horse now. We didn't chance him this year. We'll go back to Lingfield now and it could suit him well. Kachy will be hard to beat but you can't be afraid of one horse. He seems to see out this trip well now and we'll give it a go, it's 180,000 pound race. He'll run in the big handicaps throughout the year but I think long term he could be a horse for the dirt in Meydan next year and we'll have to train him for it. I didn't want to step off the plane this year and go changing our plan to do it. He's smart out of the gates, he travels and he's a big powerful horse. He's getting the trip well, he travels and he stays well now. He seems to relax a bit better these days.

Elm Grove That was badly needed! She is a tough little mare and I'm just delighted for John and Ita Malone and they are very supportive of us and she is a real trooper. Donagh gave her a lovely ride and it was great for him to have a double,. She loves hurdling and it was testing enough out there today and she didn't mind it and kept plugging away. She is a real hard working filly. We will have a bit of fun with her for the summer and we'll keep her happy and fresh at home.

Yarraman it's been a great night and it's great to get that for Pat at the start of the year. In the race everything went to plan until the two (furlong pole). I thought the two leaders would take each other on but unfortunately I thought they'd bring me a bit further. He's a horse that has no turn of foot so I had to commit when I did. He didn't do a stroke and pulled right up underneath me. If I had been chinned I would have been kicking myself. When he gets into that stride you have to keep him. He made the running the last day and he was fine but today when he hit the front he completely idled. It's daunting enough as it's a long way up the straight but in fairness to him I think if something came to me he'd have battled again.
