Denny Crane from the Eddie Lynam stable came out the better of a two-way finish when winning the ‘Tote Trifecta Rollover’ Handicap under Billy Lee.

Lee made his progress to join the leaders two furlongs out and the Red Ransom gelding responded well to pressure to get up and led on line and deny Breezed Well by a short head.

Winning trainer Lynam said afterwards: “I thought we were beat but thankfully he won. I paid hundred thousand for him so he’s slowly paying me back.”

“He’s called after William Shackner from the television programme Boston Legal.”

“We’ll go for another 0-60 handicap with him, he’s a very well bred sort, he is related to Rebelline.”
