Crowd and betting figures were both well up as punters flocked to Ballybrit for day five of the Festival meeting.

The attendance of 23,054 was up a massive 26% on the corresponding evening last year, although it was admittedly very wet 12 months ago.

The bookmakers turnover also showed a sharp rise on 2009, with 2,008,711 euro bet in the ring. This figure was 31% higher than last year's 1,533,946.

The Tote aggregate was also up a more modest 2% at 837,920.
