The Woodlands Stakes takes centre stage at Naas and Robert Cowell will be confident of taking the Listed prize back to his Newmarket base with Spirit Quartz.

The Italian import created a strong impression on his first outing for Cowell, beating all bar Fratellino in the Hever Sprint Stakes at Lingfield.

Heading the home team is The Reaper, who had the reopposing Katla, Santo Padre and Balmont Mast all behind him when landing the Cork Stakes most recently.

His trainer Ger Lyons holds Oh So Lucy in some regard - she has a couple of Classic entries - and she returns to action in the Naas Racecourse On Facebook Rated Race.

This is a competitive heat and one to watch with a view to future winners, with Stunned Silence a once-raced maiden winner for Dermot Weld, and Tommy Stack's recent Limerick scorer Croi An Or heading the weights.

Violet Lashes' Curragh third was boosted by this week's encouraging Newmarket performance by winner Amira's Prince, and she attempts to strike at the fourth attempt in the opening Naas Median Auction Maiden at 2.00.

Royal Visit and Atacx also have bright futures, and finished third and fourth respectively on the opening day of the turf season.

They cross swords once more in the goracingatnaasracecourse.com Maiden and as Atacx was sent off favourite at the Curragh, it wouldn't be the biggest surprise if he could reverse the form with the John Oxx filly.

Redoutable beat the pair of them last time and Kevin Prendergast keeps her sights relatively low for the time being in the Go Racing In Kildare Handicap.

Glor Na Mara's career hasn't hit the heights promised by his excellent juvenile campaign, but he will still be hard to beat in the Summer Barbeque Evenings Handicap, while On The Loose tries to prove last week's Gowran Park success was no fluke in the Tipper Road Apprentice Handicap.
