Settled off the pace in the early stages, Murtagh brought the 7-1 chance through to challenge the younger O'Brien on 5-4 favourite Chicago a furlong out.
Neither horse would give an inch, but eventually Ebalviyra prevailed close home, running on strongly to score by a length and a quarter.

Srucahan employed similar front-running tactics to get off the mark in the Racing At Tipperary Maiden.
Chris Hayes was happy to tow the field along on the nearside rail, and when he asked the 4-5 favourite for his effort a furlong out, he soon put the race to bed, beating September Lily by a length and a half.
