Formscan By John O'Riordan - HANNEY BOY(2) looks the one to beat. Having reached the frame on his first three starts, the Evanna McCutcheon-trained colt picked up black type over this trip at Naas in July. Off the mark when justifying favouritism at Cork next time, the son of Kodi Bear was far from disgraced back in stronger company at York recently. Best in on official ratings, he also has the added bonus of Jack Cleary taking 5lb off. Walk On Harry improved for the fitting of a tongue tie when opening his account at Cork last time. The Henry De Bromhead-trained colt looks the main threat. Jockey bookings suggest Supreme Lord is the more fancied of the Amo Racing pair.

Quotes on Force Noir (IRE)

He ran well the first day, when he showed a little bit of greenness. He has improved since the first day and I’d say he’s going to improve again. The sire (Persian Force) has had a lot of runners and they’ve all run well, they put their heads down and run. Now they are starting to win and I’m very happy for the stallion. He’s a horse that can run over five and can step up to six as well. I liked his attitude today. We’ll see how he is after today and maybe he could come back next week for the First Flier Stakes at the Curragh. We could maybe save him for the Norfolk in Ascot. The Marble Hill is another option if he doesn’t go to the First Flier.

Trainer Quotes

Quotes on Hanney Boy (IRE)

He is a fast horse, has lots of pace and had the experience,. Our lad has run to his mark and the second horse will probably go on to good things as well. Liam is connected with the English owner (Alison Jones) and rides out for me too. With the horse's connections, we could travel to the UK for races and he'll stick to five or maybe six furlongs. He is actually a bit sharper in his work than (one-time high-class sprinter and the trainer's) Maarek at times but is a chilled-out dude at the same time.
