After race at Dundalk Fri, 26th Sep, 2025 (1st)  He's getting on and I love him and I didn't want anything to happen to him but as Ben says he enjoys his racing. He tries hard. They went good fractions I'd say to do it (lead). He was 90 something (rating) at one stage. I'd say I have no choice (to keep him going), Aileen (Lynam, wife and owner) wants to run him. The girl who minds him loves him, all the staff love him, he's a pet. Edward Lynam

After race at Dundalk Fri, 10th Nov, 2023 (1st)  Sarah rode him out yesterday and said he was in great form. We were afraid Brains might take us on and hassle us but Chris (Hayes) got him out good and sharp. He was okay until turning out of the back straight when another horse got carted with and hassled him a bit. Once they are going a good even gallop he enjoys it and that’s three he’s won this year. Aileen owns him and loves him and the girl that minds him, Winnie, adores the horse so it will be a happy team going home. Aileen sneaked off at the sales and bought him. I was wondering what she was doing but he’s better than the ones I was buying!. Once you go into the high 70s or low 80s you are kind of limited for options and that’s why there are not too many runners in these races because people don’t keep them in training due to the lack of opportunities. We’ll find another one for him and kick on. Edward Lynam

After race at Laytown Tue, 12th Sep, 2023 (1st)  I've never had a slipped saddle before that I can remember. This is a big fat fella (Punk Poet)! When I was saddling him, I said 'they're a bit tight' and I let the girths out. The jockey, in fairness, got them checked at the start. He only jumped out and it (saddle) has gone. Sarah (Lynam, daughter) picked the jockey and said he was very good and I said to Sarah two and a-half out 'you know nothing' but, in fairness to him, there was nothing he could do!. I always blame the jockey! Edward Lynam

After race at Dundalk Tue, 15th Aug, 2023 (1st)  It has been a while since he has been that low (64) and unfortunately he beat an 11-year-old and there was eight lengths back to a three-year-old, so he probably won't be that low again for a while!. He got the job done but what you would worry about now is that instead of going up a bit, he could go up a lot. Handicappers go on distances. It is nice to get his head in front and Aileen loves the old horse. He enjoys here and that's his fourth over that trip here. Edward Lynam

After race at Dundalk Fri, 25th Feb, 2022 (1st)  I wasn't sure he'd won but someone told me he was odds-on in the photo. I've had so many seconds since January - I've had two winners and four seconds and thought 'here's another one!'. he's solid here, he's won here a few times (three) now and Declan was good on him today. After race at Dundalk Fri, 29th Oct, 2021 (1st)  He got 4lb for the other day for being third, he ran a blinder. The first two pulled a good bit clear of the third tonight so I hope he doesn't get a joke of a rise now. He was tough and battled well. He's a good horse, he's not a very good horse, but he's a good horse and he's tough. Hopefully we'll get another go with him up here. Edward Lynam
