James returns from injury with a winner

Sam James partnered his first winner back from injury when steering 4/5 favourite Dorothy Parker to win the Fillies Friday Night Out 9th August Maiden at Tipperary today for his boss, trainer Kevin Prendergast. James received concussion from a fall at Limerick on June 21 and only returned to action (on two also-rans) at Dundalk yesterday but had little difficulty steering Dorothy Parker to made-all two and a half lengths win over Rockview Emperor. Prendergast wasn't present while James was partnering his ninth winner of the year. Sat 13th Jul

After race at Tramore Sat, 13th Aug, 2016 (1st)

He got no run in Galway, Colin (Keane) said he was tanking it the whole way down the back. We have been toying with putting the hood on him for a long time but I decided to put it on him today. We had been saving it for Tramore and it made all the difference, he settled beautifully. Denis gave him a peach of a ride and he is going to be good. He was even struggling to stay a mile and two but I tried the hood on him at home and it does work. He was just too buzzy at Galway. Colin said he should have been placed but everywhere he went he met trouble. He is a grand horse, we bought him off Done Deal for a couple of grand. He is so consistent, he is a funny horse but he really tries. If you can get him settled at all he'll always be in the placings. He jumps hurdles well, I'd love to see if he'd get two miles over hurdles. I don't know whether John Cullen would come back out of retirement to settle him for me. He was a great man to settle a horse.

After race at Gowran Park Sat, 11th Apr, 2015 (1st)

one of the owners, Tom Rain, had a mad idea and bought him off Done Deal (classifieds website)! He got the other lads (Another Plan Partnership) into it with him then. I don't know a lot about him (Rockview Emperor), I've only had him two months but Seamie said he's a bit of a character and said he was starting to be a bit funny on the way to the start. He thought he might boil over but when the race started he was okay.

That wasn't unexpected. He has run well a few times on straight tracks. He was practically un-rideable at Down Royal the last day going right-handed. We thought he was very good as a two-year-old but then he got injured.
