The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Miss Colleen Murphy, that Rachael Blackmore, rider of Whatsinthecorner, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, placed seventh, weighed in 21lbs light. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. The rider stated that she was aware when finishing that the lead cloth had become dislodged at some stage as she finished with just a saddle and a number cloth and brought this to the attention of the trainer. The trainer stated that due to the conformation of the horse the saddle has been prone to slipping in the past but that the girth was securely tightened as normal today. The Stewards noted the video evidence where the lead cloth appeared to become dislodged as the horse jumped the second last fence. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards disqualified Whatsinthecorner from seventh place and took no further action.
