He was running well in good maidens and a winners’ race the last day. Robbie said he loved the ground, travelled well but just idled when he hit the front,. We didn’t plan for anything after today, but Colin Keane rode him the last day and said he might be one for the Birdcatcher later on the year, so we might keep it in mind. So long as there’s soft ground, we’ll keep going, but if it dries up, he might have a break. Robbie rides him work all the time and knows him well, so he didn’t need much instructions. He’s a big horse and will probably be a better three-year-old. It’s great for Keith Cooper and my wife, Roz, who do all the work at home. I have only five horses in at the minute. I ride out in the morning at Gordon Elliott’s and do my horses in the afternoon. We had 30 or 35 horses, but I don’t really want any more, to be honest. We’re keeping it small and trying to keep the show on the road, keep it small and keep costs down.
