he didn’t jump great, but he travelled fairly well. Turning in I had a good bit left and I just kinda wanted to be there in case he did make a mistake. In fairness to him, he stuck at it. I’d imagine he would progress. He has plenty of speed but would want to brush up on his hurdling. But those hurdles are very forgiving. They’re rubber, so when you hit one a belt they don’t really learn from it. He was getting away with it out there but hopefully his jumping will sharpen up and I’d say he’ll be okay going forward. The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms. Avena O'Keeffe, that Adam Williams, rider of Wild Desire, had presented himself to weigh out at four pounds in excess of his declared two pounds overweight

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of rule 195 and rule 198 and having considered Adam Williams record in this regard the Stewards fined him €150 on this occasion. Furthermore, the stewards denied the request for Adam Williams to ride with the overweight and they granted a request from the trainers authorised representative, Ms. Ciara Walsh, to substitute the nominated rider with G. Brouder.

An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards (116 = 11st 10lbs)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 11st 10lbs and the minimum weight is 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
