We had to have patience with her and she ran a good race at Clonmel last year when she was third and we thought we were on the way this year but she took a bit of getting going. The Stewards requested a report from John Gerard Lonergan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Jazz Mine, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Eoin McDonagh, Authorised representative of John Gerard Lonergan reported that this filly had consistent form in maiden hurdles but disappointed when running in handicap company at Wexford and Clonmel where on both occasions she never travelled during her races and weakened in the latter stages which was not the norm for her. Following Clonmel there were no abnormalities found but on further investigation she was found to have a problem with her stifles which was subsequently treated. She was left off for a few weeks before returning to road work and then stepping up to cantering. He concluded that she appeared to be far happier in herself today and this was shown in her improved performance

Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report

A.E. Lynch, rider of Granny Maura trained by W.J. Burke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly and was pulled up

D. Meyler, rider of Izzygonnacatcher trained by David Kenneth Budds, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he got his foot caught in the running rail on the bend past the stands and eventually pulled up his mount.
