L.Dettori, rider of Hazapour, trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount arrived with his challenge but had no more to give and may not have appreciated the ground

The Stewards requested a report from J. S. Bolger, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Turret Rocks, placed first, as compared with its most recent form. Mr. Ger Flynn, authorised representative for the trainer, reported that Turret Rocks settled well today in a race that was run at a fast pace and felt this had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
