Day two at the Galway Races, long regarded as being amongst the most attractive summer social events on the Irish sporting landscape, will be headlined by the Colm Quinn BMW Mile.
The prize pool for the feature race on day two at Ballybrit is a handsome €120,000 and allows the Colm Quinn BMW Mile to attract some of the best handicappers in Ireland.
The Colm Quinn BMW name has been associated with Galway Races for 14 years and, once more, their big race should be a cracking contest.
The winner will collect €70,800 and the entries include 25 possible runners as we take a look at some of those that may be in contention.
The field will be patiently awaiting the draw for stalls once final decs have come in, with low stalls heavily favoured over this sort of trip at Galway.

Formscan By John O'Riordan- Second in this race last year, NORWALK HAVOC can go one place better. Winner of a Listed race at Leopardstown subsequently, the Jessica Harrington-trained four-year-old looks to have been campaigned with a repeat bid in mind. Following a promising reappearance in a Group 3 race last month, the son of Showcasing should be primed for this contest. A prominent racer, he is much more favourably drawn than he was 12 months ago. Slieve Binnian, who has been a revelation for connections in recent weeks, looks a serious threat. The David Marnane-trained gelding quickened up smartly to win a premier handicap at Leopardstown last time. Mississippi River is also worthy of consideration in a competitive renewal.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards that have run three or more times under any Rules of Racing up to and including 21st July, 2025, at least one of those runs having been on or after 1st June, 2024 and are rated 80 or more (105 = 10st)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.

Coeur d'Or in line for another crack
The 2023 winner Coeur d'Or is back for a possible third tilt at the race for trainer Dermot Weld.
The now nine-year-old Dubawi gelding won this contest two years ago and finished fourth behind Mexicali Rose 12 months ago off a mark of 100.
He's rated 2lb lower now, and has run two pleasing races at the Curragh over this mile trip in recent months since returning from his winter layoff.
The Weld team could also include Spoken Truth in the Moyglare silks or Juddmonte-owned three-year-old Sujet
Spoken Truth is a son of Frankel and won his maiden over 10-furlongs at the Curragh last season. He hasn't added to the tally since, but shaped with much more purpose at the Curragh last time.
Sujet, meanwhile, got off the mark at the fourth time of asking on seasonal return at the Curragh (1m, good) by landing a Premier handicap at the Irish Derby meeting in June.
Another son of Frankel, he's open to progress from 9lb higher in the ratings and it leaves Weld nicely positioned.
Lyons' Power heads the entries

Ger Lyons is also well represented and his Power Under Me tops the entry-list. The seven-year-old is a seven-time winner already, including five wins at Group 3/Listed level. He has never raced at Ballybrit.
The Lyons team also has an option for 103-rated Bravais who could carry top-weight in the absence of Power Under Me.
The ex-Andre Fabre inmate has been in good form in four runs for his new trainer, including a win at Tipperary over a similar trip to this in April.
He was second-best in a small-field event at Fairyhouse in June but his proven stamina could be an asset for the stiff mile around Galway.
Evening Blossom represents the fillies
Joseph O'Brien 's Evening Blossom is the only filly amongst the 25-strong entry list. The daughter of Australia is a winner of four of her 12 starts, including two of the last three.
Those wins came at Limerick (1m, soft to heavy) and Killarney (1m, yielding to soft), but her 2024 wins at Gowran Park and Leopardstown — both over this trip — were on good ground.
A comfortable winner last time under Dylan McMonagle, she's up 7lb to a career-high mark of 100 with Galway in front of her.
Aidan O'Brien, meanwhile, has entries for the likes of Mississippi River and Rock Of Cashel both three-year-old colts with smart form in the book already.
